Actor Jung Joon-won brings warmth and family love to living rooms nationwide as the head of a household who is both a romantic and a doting father.
The upcoming MBC new Friday-Saturday drama "Married Woman Killer" (planned by Kwon Sung-chang, written by Kim Eun-hee, directed by Yoon Jong-ho and Kim Ji-hoon, produced by Bonfactory, Wind Pictures, and Studio Fim), set to premiere on the 31st, depicts the struggle of a working mother with the world's most vicious profession fighting to maintain work-life balance. Jung Joon-won takes on the role of Kwon Tae-sung, the husband of Yu Bo-na (played by Gong Hyo-jin) and a passionate investigative journalism reporter, and is expected to portray complex inner emotions with depth.
Ahead of the premiere, Jung Joon-won shared his motivation for taking on the role, noting that the script was fascinating and that working with Gong Hyo-jin, whom he had long been a fan of, was a major appeal. When asked to describe his character in keywords, he chose "romantic" and "doting father," expressing affection by saying it would be no exaggeration to say the character lives solely for his family with overflowing love. Regarding the synchronicity with his real personality, he added that he is naturally taciturn and introverted by nature, so he made efforts to match aspects he doesn't naturally possess.
He also expressed satisfaction with his chemistry with fellow actors. Regarding Gong Hyo-jin, Jung Joon-won raised expectations for their on-screen couple chemistry, noting that she has the great power to excite her scene partner just by being present on set. About fellow cast member Lee Sang-i, he added warmth by saying that her unique positive and bright energy stimulated him, and they acted as friends. Finally, he expressed confidence by stating that his goal is to show what love between family members truly means.
"Married Woman Killer," based on a webtoon of the same name, will premiere on July 31st at 9:50 p.m.
