In ENA's Monday-Tuesday drama "Dream for You" (directed by Yoo Sun-dong, written by Jung Eun-bi, planned by KT Studio Genie, produced by Contents Planner), Baek Sung-chul took on the role of bit-part actor Shim Yu-gun, depicting a character who pursues his dream of acting despite the harsh walls of reality.
In episodes 5 and 6, the character's genuine sincerity shone through even in difficult circumstances. When his friend Oh Ha-na (played by Lee Yeol-eum) was spoken to rudely at a meat restaurant, Shim Yu-gun quit his job and stayed by her side. Baek Sung-chul expressed his kindness and loyalty—not turning away from others' pain—through warm eyes.
A scene where the two characters share their inner thoughts also captured attention. Shim Yu-gun, who dreamed of becoming an actor after loving Hong Kong films, opened up about the time he spent as an extra, confessing, "If dreams had an expiration date, I'd want it to be ten thousand years." Baek Sung-chul conveyed his sincerity while oscillating between pure excitement about his dreams and the loneliness of reality.
After suffering a motorcycle accident while working for his livelihood, Shim Yu-gun visits his father back in his hometown and expresses his affection and regret, revealing his desperation by saying, "I will absolutely not give up." He then breaks into tears he had been holding back, leaving a deep emotional imprint.
Afterward, meeting talent agency representative Ahn Soo-hee (played by Park Ji-young), he reveals firm determination toward success and hints at his transformation. Baek Sung-chul delicately portrayed the character's multi-layered inner world, completing a youth character that audiences want to cheer for.
