MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Married Woman Killer' has released character posters of Gong Hyo-jin, Jung Jun-won, and Lee Sang-i.
'Married Woman Killer' (planned by Kwon Sung-chang / written by Kim Eun-hee / directed by Yoon Jong-ho and Kim Ji-hoon / produced by Bon Factory, Baram Pictures, and Studio Pim), scheduled to air on the 31st, depicts a working mother with the world's most brutal profession struggling to maintain work-life balance.
The released poster captures the confrontational structure between Yoo Bo-na (played by Gong Hyo-jin), Kwon Tae-sung (played by Jung Jun-won), and Lee Dong-jin (played by Lee Sang-i), who hold different beliefs, sparking curiosity about the narrative these three characters will unfold. A breathtaking chase unfolds as three people—killer Yoo Bo-na who punishes criminals, social affairs reporter Kwon Tae-sung who pursues the truth of cases to the end, and detective Lee Dong-jin who is destined to catch criminals—each attempt to realize justice in their own way.
Yoo Bo-na gazes forward with a cold stare while gripping a sniper rifle. Like a one-shot-one-kill sniper who subdues vicious criminals with a single shot from a distance, the rooftop with an open view becomes the stage announcing her brilliant return to active duty. Her flawless all-black outfit and the phrase "Okay, shall we go?" fully reveal the killer's instinct. Next, Kwon Tae-sung captivates with eyes that cross between persistence and emptiness. The employee ID hanging around his neck represents the sense of mission of a passionate journalist pursuing the truth, but his sharp question "Kingfisher for sure?" as a former dedicated reporter on Kingfisher brings past memories of when he halted all coverage due to some incident to the surface, creating tension.
Lee Dong-jin aims his pistol in a flawless stance, burning with determination to apprehend criminals. His police officer ID, representing his choice to pursue the path of detective rather than private enforcement after overcoming tragedy in his school days, reveals his destiny to uphold the law and justice. Furthermore, the phrase "Nice to see you, Kingfisher!" implicitly demonstrates his long-standing tracking instinct and persistence, foreshadowing an unavoidable head-on confrontation.
The production team stated, "This character poster aimed to show the contrast of three people with different beliefs in a single space, the rooftop," and added, "The complex relationships of the three people centered on Kingfisher will provide fresh entertainment, and we hope you look forward to their thrilling chase that precariously crosses between the everyday realms of married couples and friends."
'Married Woman Killer,' based on the popular Kakao webtoon of the same name, will premiere on July 31st at 9:50 p.m.
