'Time Tracker Sherlock' cast members Bong Tae-gyu and Jung Young-joo vividly share fascinating anecdotes related to shamanism.
In the 2nd episode of SBS Plus 'Time Tracker Sherlock' airing on the 21st, the show features a special edition titled 'Politics, Shamanism, and Shadow Figures' that uncovers the astrologers who manipulated history's worst dictator Hitler and Ronald Reagan, the 40th U.S. President who ended the Cold War, as well as the true identity of the most dangerous shadow figure in late Joseon. Actress Jung Young-joo, historian Gye Seung-beom, and psychologist Jo Young-eun join as special guests, adding diverse perspectives.
The cast members raise the atmosphere by sharing personal anecdotes surrounding shamanic beliefs. Jung Young-joo says, "Shamans looked at me and glared, asking 'Why did you come?' and then handed me a fan and bell, telling me to hold them directly," drawing laughter. Bong Tae-gyu surprises everyone by saying, "I set my wedding date for October, but I heard a prophecy that I would get married in May, and my first child was actually born in May, so I got married then."
Next, the identity of the secret astrologer who existed behind President Reagan and his wife is revealed, along with the White House's fortune calendar operated according to zodiac divinations. Jung Young-joo expresses astonishment, saying, "The White House isn't even a local convenience store, yet world history changed on a single piece of paper." After hearing the prophecies of the astrologer who taught mass psychology design and speech techniques to dictator Hitler, the cast members express chills, saying "It's like the devil's prank."
Records of the ultimate shadow figure shaman who consumed Joseon are also unveiled. Sun Kim conveys, "With the appearance of this shaman, bizarre scenes unfolded in Joseon," and Jang Hang-jun expresses frustration, saying, "A nation fell apart with just one word from a shaman—it resonates more because it's our history."
