'Odyssey' is receiving high praise from Korea's representative directors, actors, and artists as it opens on the 5th.
'Odyssey' [Director: Christopher Nolan, Imported / Distributed by: Universal Pictures] is generating heated buzz as it reinvents Homer's classic with a modern sensibility and opens simultaneously across theaters.
Praise from filmmakers who have captivated the world continues to pour in. Master director Park Chan-wook praised the direction, saying, "Great stories always require new, contemporary interpretations. Director Christopher Nolan has accomplished this brilliantly." Director Hwang Dong-hyuk, who won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for 'Squid Game,' exclaimed, "Simply amazing," while director Jang Joon-hwan of '1987' left a strong impression with the words, "A strikingly powerful stroke beyond imagination." Director Lim Pil-sung of 'How to Become a Building Owner in South Korea' evaluated it saying, "The newly written Homeric narrative is overwhelming, moving, and beautiful. The reinterpretation of the Trojan Horse resonates deeply," and director Kim Joo-hwan of 'Hunting Dogs' recommended it, saying, "I witnessed the most perfect heroic narrative."
