Hwang In-yeop and Lee Hye-ri sparked intense interest with an exciting reunion with their first love.
In the new ENA Monday-Tuesday drama "Dream of You" [Directed by Yoo Seon-dong, Written by Jung Eun-bi, Planned by KT Studio Genie, Produced by Contents Planner], which aired for the first time on the 13th, the 15-year reunion between genius film director Woo Soo-bin (played by Hwang In-yeop), who won two awards with his first feature film, and reporter Ju Yi-jae (played by Lee Hye-ri), who travels across the country, was depicted. In the past, Woo Soo-bin was forced to become a doctor, but Ju Yi-jae was his first love who planted the dream of becoming a film director in him. However, when Woo Soo-bin left for America, the promise between the two was broken.
After 15 years, amid the glorious spotlight, Woo Soo-bin thought of Ju Yi-jae, but Ju Yi-jae found herself struggling to find money due to her mother Park Hyun-ok's (played by Park Myung-sin) shop deposit.
Ju Yi-jae, whose situation felt humble, tried to turn away from Woo Soo-bin, but Woo Soo-bin charged forward without hesitation. Woo Soo-bin handed her an old script and suggested they complete the ending together, but Ju Yi-jae refused. Ju Yi-jae, who had waited for Woo Soo-bin in the pouring rain 15 years ago, poured out her regret and anger, while Woo Soo-bin's self-reproachful expression sparked curiosity about their past.
The supporting characters' first meeting was also impressive. Aspiring minor actor Shim Yoo-geon (played by Baek Sung-chul) went to a filming location for top star Oh Ha-na (played by Lee Yeol-eum) for a delivery and took on the role of a substitute model, and Oh Ha-na showed interest in him. The scene of Shim Yoo-geon watching Oh Ha-na's advertisement back in his rooftop room contrasted the two characters' opposite realities and added interest.
Hwang In-yeop and Lee Hye-ri delicately portrayed the temperature difference between the two people reuniting in their 30s with stable chemistry. Hwang In-yeop's skillful performance with deep emotional lines and Lee Hye-ri's passionate acting that evoked empathy with reality shone brightly.
