Broadcaster Ji Yeon-soo, a former racing model, shed tears while opening up about the difficult daily life she has endured struggling to support herself and her son after her divorce.
On the 13th, Ji Yeon-soo confessed through her personal YouTube channel that since her divorce, she has gone through various part-time jobs including dishwashing at restaurants, cleaning, working at side dish shops, bridal shops, and rice cake factories to make a living.
Currently working at a gomtang (beef bone soup) restaurant, Ji Yeon-soo conveyed her heartfelt maternal feelings, unable to embrace her son freely after work. Ji Yeon-soo said, "When I open the door after work, my son hugs me right away, but I have a strong smell of braised meat and boiled meat on me," and "I don't want my child to remember me by that smell, so I deliberately pretend to be on a phone call before entering the house," evoking sympathy. She continued, "When I asked my son, he said it was okay, but since even I sometimes find the smell unpleasant, I'm always sorry to my child," and shed tears.
She also candidly revealed the weighty reality in stark contrast to her glamorous past. Ji Yeon-soo was a star racing model who won the grand prize at the Seoul Auto Salon Racing Queen Selection Contest and appeared on terrestrial entertainment programs, gaining attention for her tall stature and glamorous appearance. However, after leaving the industry and entering the workforce, she said, "I had to kill myself so I wouldn't stand out in people's eyes," and revealed that "I deliberately worked while wearing men's training suits or swimming trunks that didn't show my body lines."
Ji Yeon-soo married Il-Hae from the group U-KISS in 2014 and had a son, but divorced in 2020. Later, the two appeared together on an observation entertainment program in 2022 and explored the possibility of reconciliation, but it ultimately fell through. With news of her ex-husband's remarriage coming to light recently, Ji Yeon-soo is solely raising her son and supporting their living expenses.
