ENA's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Rookie Soldiers 4: Sabotage' completed its full-fledged comeback announcement by conducting a script reading in a pleasant atmosphere.
'Rookie Soldiers 4: Sabotage' (directed by Min Jin-ki and Cho Je-uk, written by Yun Ki-young and Kim Dan, planned by KT Studio Genie, produced by Story Island), set to be released on August 24th, is a hyper-realism military comedy based on the original mega-hit animation of the same name. In this season, the story depicts the dynamic second half of barracks life as Corporal Park Min-seok (played by Kim Min-ho), who has been promoted in rank, re-enters combat mode with Lance Corporal Choi Il-gu (played by Nam Tae-woo) who has returned, a mysterious recruit, and the arrival of a battalion commander who will cause a stir.
The actors' passionate performances shone at the script reading venue. Kim Min-ho vividly portrayed the gullible charm of Corporal Park Min-seok, who dreams of being treated as a senior but faces an awkward future with the arrival of a new battalion commander and recruit. Kim Dong-jun played the role of Jeon Se-gae, a national actor who has perfectly adapted to military life and is loved by his seniors, adding bright energy. Oh Dae-hwan, playing Captain Jo Baek-ho who leads the 2nd company with love, held the center of the play as a reliable support.
The activities of new faces who will shake up the Shinhwa unit also drew expectations. Lee Hyun-gyun took on the role of elite battalion commander Byun Hyuk-jin, who brings tension to the Shinhwa unit by advocating for advanced military barracks, showing perfect synchronization. Lee Won-jung took on the role of mysterious recruit Kim Hyun-uk, who hides subtle discomfort behind the face of an ace, displaying delicate inner acting.
The original members continue to shine. Nam Tae-woo, who has returned as Lance Corporal Choi Il-gu, the youngest among officers after being the most senior private, brought laughter to life with close-fitting realistic acting that captures his awkward position. Kim Yo-han, still playing the role of bumbling senior Moon Bit-na-ri, displayed charming qualities that cannot be hated.
The production team stated, "A massive sabotage that will shake the peace of Park Min-seok, who has stepped into the senior line, is about to begin. We hope you will look forward to stronger laughter and empathy, as well as upgraded chemistry."
'Rookie Soldiers 4: Sabotage' will air on ENA every Monday at 10 p.m. starting August 24th and can also be watched on Genie TV and Tving.
