Actor Ji-sung took hold of the chairman position while overcoming a critical crisis, and Park Byung-eun extended a bloody handshake foreshadowing confrontation.
The 4th episode of JTBC's Saturday-Sunday drama 'Apartment' (written by Kim Yun-young, directed by Cho Yong-won, produced by SLL and Red Nine Pictures), which aired on the 19th, recorded an average of 6.1% in the Seoul metropolitan area and 6.0% nationwide according to Nielsen Korea, continuing its upward trend and maintaining the top position among non-terrestrial weekend dramas.
In the 4th episode, co-representative Park Hae-gang (played by Ji-sung) ran for chairman of the residents' representatives council and gathered votes. While making progress with window display couple acting with Kang Ha-ri (played by Ha Yun-kyung) and with the assistance of Jang Suk-jin (played by Moon So-ri), he faced a crisis when four-term chairman Seo Kang-won (played by Baek Hyun-jin), who was aiming for reelection, exposed Park Hae-gang's former gangster past, branding him as a criminal. In response, Park Hae-gang obtained relics from Japanese VIP Tadayoshi (played by Won Hyun-jun), whom he had saved in the past, buried them at the new city development site, and then pulled off an extraordinary show pretending it was a coincidence to discover them, skyrocketing property values and winning the chairmanship.
Meanwhile, Lee Chung-won (played by Park Byung-eun), who suffered a fatal blow as the new city development project came to a complete halt, unleashed brutal madness. Lee Chung-won brutally crushed Chairman Seo with his own office nameplate, which had become useless, and led to his miserable downfall. The ending featured a scene where Park Hae-gang, who was heading to a congratulatory party, came face to face with Lee Chung-won, who was coming out after taking care of Chairman Seo. When Lee Chung-won asked for a handshake with congratulations on the election, Park Hae-gang shook it, but upon noticing small bloodstains on Lee Chung-won's hand and face, his eyes hardened.
As Park Hae-gang turned away, Lee Chung-won displayed a sharp smile saying "We'll meet again," creating tension about future developments.
The 5th episode of JTBC's Saturday-Sunday drama 'Apartment' will air on Saturday, July 25th at 10:40 PM.
