Actors Zendaya and Robert Pattinson star in the unique genre romantic thriller "The Drama," which has confirmed its domestic release in September and unveiled its first poster.
"The Drama" (directed by Christopher Bougly, produced by A24 and Square Peg) tells the story of a happy couple on the eve of their wedding who confess hidden secrets from their past, as the perfect wedding week they've dreamed of spirals into unpredictable chaos.
"The Drama," regarded as Studio A24's biggest talking point, ranked third in A24's all-time opening weekend score when it was released in North America in April and recorded approximately 200 billion won in global box office revenue, drawing significant attention from the film industry.
The casting of Zendaya and Robert Pattinson in particular is drawing high expectations. Zendaya takes on the role of Emma, whose shocking past is revealed just before the wedding, while Robert Pattinson plays Charlie, who becomes confused as he faces Emma's hidden past, delivering explosive emotional performances and intense chemistry.
Director Christopher Bougly, who handled directing and screenplay, and director Ari Aster, who participated in production, presented human relationships in a romantic thriller format and received rave reviews from major overseas media outlets as the best film.
The released first poster conveys a subtle tension with Emma nestled in Charlie's arms, proudly displaying a wedding ring on her left ring finger, and Charlie staring intensely forward. Coupled with the tagline "You are cordially invited," it heightens curiosity about the secrets and chaos that will unfold between the two.
