Actor Kim Dae-myung has filled the small screen with horror through his chilling dual personas.
Kim Dae-myung plays the role of criminal No Man-hee in the KBS 2TV Saturday-Sunday mini-series 'The Completion of Marriage' (directed by Kim Jung-hyun and Kim Min-tae, written by Jung Jae-ha, produced by Red Nine Pictures and KBS Media), delivering a powerful performance as a perpetrator of kidnapping and murder who doesn't even blink an eye. He skillfully twists the typical image of a kidnapper into a character that he expresses with meticulous acting of his own, infusing the drama with tense suspense.
In previous broadcasts, No Man-hee kidnapped Go Se-yoon (played by Lee Seol), the wife of Kang Tae-joo (played by Namgoong Min), and used this as leverage to push Kang Tae-joo to an extreme situation. In episode 1, where he appeared mainly through his voice, Kim Dae-myung received praise by alternating between monotony and heightened emotions. From episode 2 onward, when he fully revealed his face, he elevated the level of immersion with eyes gleaming with madness and fluctuating emotions. In episodes 3 and 4, he amplified the sense of horror by showing a Janus-like aspect—smiling gently and kindly in front of people, but instantly turning sinister when revealing his true criminal nature.
In the drama, No Man-hee, who operates a computer academy, presents himself as an affectionate and good teacher in front of children, perfectly embodying ordinariness. However, even in spaces where children are present, he monitors the criminal situations he has committed and pushes his victims into greater suffering. He appears at critical moments before Se-yoon, who is trying to escape, leaving her breathless, and makes her tremble in fear by having her hear all the murders he commits. Furthermore, it is revealed that he committed another kidnapping and murder six years ago.
Kim Dae-myung freely switches between an ordinary face and a sinister one depending on the situation, depicting the essence of a villain. As the drama moves past the midway point, the confrontation between Kang Tae-joo and No Man-hee is expected to become more intense, and expectations are gathering for Kim Dae-myung's performance, which will send shivers down viewers' spines as he navigates between extreme acting styles.
'The Completion of Marriage' airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:20 PM.
